Skiing in Iceland

Skíðasvæði Norðurþings

Place: Húsavík View map
Facebook: reydararhnjukur
Description:
Tracks are regularly laid on Reykjaheiði when conditions permit and this is then advertised on the Norðurþing ski area Facebook page

There are usually hiking trails from December/January - until spring (April/May)

The area is on Reykjaheiði just west of Höskuldsvatn about 7 km. from Húsavík. The driving route to the area is up Þverholt in Húsavík and from there on a paved road that leads to Þeistareykir.

Usually, 3 and 5 km long tracks are laid and sometimes longer, e.g. on weekends, and they are suitable for everyone.

Snow conditions must be taken into account, as the area offers great possibilities in terms of track laying. It is a double track with a paved skating track next to it.

Ski area
Húsavík ski area is now on Reykjaheiði at Reyðarárhnjúk.
