Description:
The Tungudalur cross-country ski area has three high-performance ski lifts and a variety of slopes for everyone. There is a beginner lift at the bottom of the valley for those who are taking their first steps. Directly ahead of Sandfell are gentle but steep slopes that are only partially trodden, making it easy to ski off-piste.
Inside the valley at Miðfellslyftun there are gentler slopes for the average skier as well as more experienced skiers who want more power on the slopes. From the end of the lift it is ideal to strap on your skis and stroll up to Miðfell and enjoy the view from there. On the south side of Miðfell there is a steep and fun slope. From the end of Miðfellslyftun there are gentle slopes down to the valley floor that are designed for the family. The longest ski slope is about 2.6km. There are five ski slopes in the area with FIS certification for competition.

Snowboarders are of course not left out.
If conditions permit, workers create jumps, bordercross tracks, and the gorge is popular with snowboarders. Rails and boxes are set up around the area and in the beginner area for those who want to try their hand at it.
