Skiing in Iceland

Skíðasvæði Tindastóls

Place: Sauðárkrókur View map
Facebook: skitindastoll
Description:
The ski area is located on the west side of Tindastól in a valley called Ytridalur. The valley extends south to Þröskuld and north to Lambárbotn. The lower part of the slope is called Lambárbreiður. There is quite a lot of snow there, as the area is sheltered from the north wind. The area is 15 km from Sauðárkrókur.

The lift starts at 445m above sea level and goes up to 690 m. The first 300 meters are suitable for beginners and those who do not trust themselves to very steep slopes, so it is easy for the whole family to come to us for skiing.

A hiking trail is groomed every day that the area is open. The trail is a 4-5 km loop in a varied landscape south of the lift, but it is also possible to go on a shorter loop in a relatively flat area. The Tindastól hike is held here annually, and it is part of the Icelandic Ski Association's hike.

We can't forget the people on boards, we invite them to play in the ravines that are there in the area, not forgetting the Lambárbotn itself, which is almost vertical and the flow is about 3.km
